Greetings Friends!
Well, I saw my last sunset in Radonice, and I'm now finally moved into my new place in Prague, in the neighborhood of Krč. No, that's not an abbreviation, that's the name of this district. It sounds just like it's spelled, roughly the sound a manual transmission makes when you don't put the clutch in all the way.
On Friday my colleague Jana from the ČEA picked me up and we managed to cram most of my worldly possessions into her shiny new red Škoda, and then with a bit of nostalgia said good-bye to the rolling fields of Radonice. I am so grateful for that time in the village...but I have to admit, it's good to finally be able to unpack for real. It's also good to be close to public transit in Prague.
But it's a whole new set of things to learn and explore...where the closest markets are, where to take my recycling, and a new set of public transit routes. But there's one odd little thread of continuity that runs from Richland to Radonice, and finally to my place here on Budějovická: garbage day is Thursday. Which means Wednesday night usually involves a panicked "Did I take the can out to the curb?"

This Thursday I have an appointment with immigration to pick up my employee card (basically my green card). It is a two-year work and residence visa, that (Lord willing) is renewable. Please pray that this final (for now) step in my visa journey presents no problems!
And then on Saturday, Marion Dowell from West Side Church and I depart for two weeks of English camp. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends! But two weeks is a lot, especially when it's two camps. Riding the roller coaster of Camp No. 1 leaves you breathless, but then you have to be back "on" full steam again for Camp No. 2, and a whole new set of people. But it's such an awesome ministry. I learned that one of my landlady's sons became a Christian years ago at one of those camps; and the other day I was in a ČEA meeting and it turns out one of the young women was the aunt of one of the kids I knew from there! So these camps are sending out ripples across this nation. Please be praying for stamina, health, and some great connections with the youth (and the leaders).
Blessings...until next time!
